New Children’s Basic Western Horsemanship semester begins Monday, April 3rd @ 6pm!
The Ranch’s Children’s Western lessons are designed for children aged 8 and up, and teach children the basics of Western Horsemanship from safe ground handling to control at a canter.
Our horses are safe and well-mannered, and we keep the lessons fun – often working outdoors, on trail, or on western performance patterns and games. Lessons are kept small (a maximum of 6 riders per class), to ensure safety and lots of personal attention.
As with all of our lessons, children are taught not just to ride, but to groom, tack and clean up after their horses. This holistic approach teaches awareness and understanding of animal behaviour that translates into better understanding and communication in the saddle.
Interested parents and children are welcome to drop in and watch a class, and parents are always welcome to stay and (unobtrusively) watch their children progress.
12 lesson semester: $564.00, HST included
10 lesson semester: $470.00, HST included
Classes have a max. of 6 students, and are held weekly at 6pm. Students are permitted one free make-up class/semester.
*Children’s Private lessons are also available upon request: $40.00/30 minutes, HST included
