Ranch Coaches and Instructors

Cheryl Gullion has been a member of the Ranch family for over 10 years. She started volunteering and riding with us when she was 14 yrs old and is now our full-time General Manager and Western Coach.

Cheryl’s classes are casual and fun, and she quickly adapts her curriculum to each rider; offering patience where needed, but pushing where appropriate.  She’s also great at matching riders to exactly the right horse, so learning to ride or improving your skills will be fun and fulfilling.

Outside of her busy schedule at the Ranch and teaching at an Ontario College, Cheryl finds time to train her young paint horse, compete in Western Performance events and show dogs.

Jayden Heck discovered her passion for riding at a facility just like the Ranch at the age of 7. Her competition experience was with Hunters; showing many types of ponies and horses through her career. 17 years and one BAH degree later, Jayden has combined her love for horses and teaching to share her passion with children; helping them to fall in love with the sport just as she did. Jayden has retired from competing while pursuing her teaching degree, but continues to love riding in her spare time, and we’re thrilled to welcome her to the Ranch Family!

Jayden will be using the english Ontario Equestrian curriculum to guide her pony club classes.

Jenni Bailey has been trail guiding at the Ranch for two seasons now, and has been assistant coaching for Cheryl and Vanessa this summer and has been running our summer day program as well! Her background is also in Hunt seat, but she rides in every saddle; western and dressage as well! We are thrilled that she’s taking time out from her schedule at Guelph University’s Equine Science program to instruct our young western riders!

Jenni will be using the western Ontario Equestrian curriculum to guide her classes.
